Notice on Cookies and Similar Technologies

As Adil Onur Karahan Şahıs Şirketi (the “Company”), the privacy and security of your personal data are among our top priorities. This notice has been prepared pursuant to Article 10 of Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data (“KVKK”) in order to inform you about the cookies and similar technologies used on the Attendify+ website and mobile application (the “Platform”). Information about your other personal data processed on the Platform is provided in the KVKK Privacy Notice and the Privacy Policy.

1. What are cookies and similar technologies?

Cookies are small text files saved to your browser when you visit a website. The browser’s local storage is also used for a similar purpose. In the mobile app, instead of cookies, data stored on the device and software development kits (SDKs) integrated into the app, as well as device and advertising identifiers, are used.

2. Technologies used on the website

2.1. Strictly necessary / functional local storage — These are technologies required for the website to function.

When you log in to the web panel, your session key (attendify.session), your language preference (lang) and your grade calculation scale (attendify.gradeScale) are stored in your browser’s local storage; they are not shared with anyone outside the Company, and the session key is deleted when you log out. No analytics, advertising or targeting cookies are used on the promotional website (the pages seen without logging in).

2.2. Advertising cookies (on the web panel only) — On the web panel used after logging in, advertisements are displayed through Google AdSense. For this purpose, Google may place its own cookies (e.g. __gads, __gpi, IDE) on your browser, and your IP address and browser information are transmitted to Google. The names and durations of these cookies are determined by Google; the Company cannot access them. Visitors from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are shown Google’s consent window before any advertisement. If you have ad-free time or a premium membership, no advertisements are loaded.

2.3. Third-party resources — The page font is loaded from Google Fonts servers. In doing so, your IP address and browser information are technically transmitted to Google; this transfer is subject to Google’s privacy policy. The map on the About Us page is loaded from Google Maps only when you click the “Show map” button; in that case, Google may place cookies on your browser under its own policy. The Company has no control over these cookies.

3. Technologies used in the mobile app

No third-party analytics (usage statistics) SDK is used in the mobile app; usage statistics are kept only on the Company’s servers.

4. Legal grounds and purposes

• Performance of the contract: maintaining the session, storing your data and preferences on the device, displaying on-device notifications.
• Legitimate interest: ensuring ease of use; measuring how much the app is used; displaying non-personalized ads in the app and on the web panel.
• Establishment, exercise or protection of a right: use of the relevant records in the event of a legal dispute or a request for information from public institutions.
• Consent: by downloading and using the Platform, you are deemed to have consented to the display of advertisements personalized to your interests. You may turn off personalization at any time in your device settings and, on the web panel, at adssettings.google.com or in your browser’s cookie settings; in that case, non-personalized ads are shown. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, consent to personalized ads is obtained separately through Google’s consent window.

5. Sharing

Data obtained through these technologies is shared, limited solely to the purposes above, with the advertising service providers (Google AdMob and its mediation partners Meta Audience Network and Unity Ads in the app, Google AdSense on the web panel), the notification service provider (Google Firebase Cloud Messaging) and with hosting and IT infrastructure service providers. Since these providers are located abroad, this sharing constitutes a transfer abroad. Detailed information about the recipient groups is provided in the KVKK Privacy Notice.

6. How can you manage your preferences?

On the website: You may delete or block site data and advertising cookies in your browser settings; you may turn off Google’s personalized ads at adssettings.google.com.

In the mobile app: You may manage or reset your advertising identifier and your personalized ad preference in your device settings (Android: Settings › Google › Ads; iPhone: Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking). You may turn off reminders in the app’s Settings screen, and all notifications in your device’s notification settings.

7. Contact for your rights and requests

You may submit your requests regarding your rights under Article 11 of the KVKK, with a petition in accordance with the Communiqué on the Procedures and Principles for Applications to the Data Controller or using the Data Subject Application Form on our Policies page, through the following channels:

We kindly ask that you write “Data Subject Request under the Law on the Protection of Personal Data” in the subject line of the application envelope or email.

*For applications in person, only the front side of a document proving your identity needs to be presented (with the blood type and religion fields not visible).

Your requests will be concluded free of charge within 30 (thirty) days at the latest. If the process additionally requires a cost, the fee in the tariff determined by the Personal Data Protection Board may be charged.

8. About this notice

The Company may update this notice in line with changes in the legislation and on the Platform. The current version is published on the Platform.
